Christmas Day

We spend Christmas day at my parents house (Nana & Paw Paw's). The served a delicious feast and showered us with gifts. My mom always has the most creative and thoughtful gifts. We enjoyed our day together so much. Avery loves her new baby and stroller. She has been all over the house. Just in the last week she has a new sense of independence and mobility. And with that has come an opinion and strong will. It has been a big transformation for her. I can't believe that she is becoming a little girl and isn't going to be a baby for much longer. Tear.

Christmas Morning

Santa left Clay and Avery toys galore! Clay even said that he heard Santa's bells when he was in his bed. ha!

Clay got a Toy Story scooter, a lego table, and a "cooker". He wanted a grill just like his Daddy's.
Avery got a Bitty Baby, a stroller, a chair. The horse was a sweet gift from "Santa Sara", because Grace and Avery were done with the toy! (Thank you! :)Clay's first reactions. He studied everything and said "Santa had a big sleigh!" Both of my happy babies:
After seeing and studying all the toys, we enjoyed cinnamon rolls and a breakfast casserole with Nana, Paw Paw, and Aunt Ally. What sweet memories!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Gee & Pop's house. Half of our crew had been wiped out by the 24 hour stomach virus, so it was a little more low key than expected. (I got it Christmas night and it was gone 24 hours later, but no fun- PRAY that Kyle, Clay and Avery don't get it... PLEASE!) Anyways, we all got a lot of goodies and Pop & Gee outdid themselves yet again. We are so blessed with a wonderful family. All of the cousins in their matching pjs:Aunt Jennifer got Avery this adorable ornament:Avery loved opening gifts and eating the wrapping paper. By the end of the night she had wrapping paper ink all over her face. It was quite funny! After traveling the whole month of December, our 3 wisemen arrived safely to baby Jesus. During their travels, the third wiseman was found and replaced the race car driver. Although, Clay did not want to exclude the race car driver and he was still invited to see baby Jesus. Very appropriate, I thought.Clay and I made cookies for Santa. He insisted on doing a taste test before we served them to Santa. I hope that Santa didn't get the stomach virus, too. ha! More Christmas posts to come! :)

Photo Opp

This Christmas, the whole Boothe clan was under one roof, so we took it as the perfect photo opp! Sara did a great job snapping this picture quickly and getting all 4 of the children's attention... not an easy task :)

Christmas with the Cousins

We have been enjoying a fun week with our cousins (my niece and nephew), Addison & Tripp. I love this picture of all four of the kids. I think that it is funny how Clay, Tripp & Addison all resemble one another and Avery looks so different (3 Boothes and a Sims! ha!)
I hope that they are all on Santa's nice list. I am really questioning that sweet little red head of mine. I have threatened to call Santa more times that I can count. Are you exempt from the naughty list if you are going through the "terrible twos threes?"

Merry Christmas Eve Eve from our family to yours.

Happy 9 Months, Baby girl!

On Christmas day, Avery celebrates 9 months of life. She has now been in my arms longer than she was in my tummy! :) She is still such a sweet little thing with so much personality. This month, she has learned a lot. She learned to crawl, eat food off her high chair (work in progress) and she is trying to pull up. She loves to smile and show off her bottom two teeth. Her favorite toys are a toy truck and and a toy screw driver (Santa is bringing a lot of girly, frilly, pink things :) She is sleeping so good, usually 12 hours at night. She takes a 1 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap. She is taking 4 (6oz.) bottles per day and 3 jars of baby food. Cheerios are still her favorite snack. I usually always have a soggy Cheerio stuck to me somewhere. At Bible study and MDO, her teachers tell me that she loves music time and usually holds up her hands or claps. When she gets really excited, she tenses up and shakes... like she can't contain her excitement. This usually happens when Kyle gets home or she sees my pull out the Cheerios.
I love this girl more everyday. She completes our little family and brings so much joy to our hearts.

Busy, Busy

This time of year seems to bring a lot of busy-ness. Our days seem to be so full.

Avery has been busy trying new foods and learning to be mobile:
Clay has been busy with Christmas activities. He attended a Christmas pajama party & loved it! They had cookies and milk, pictures with Santa, crafts, etc. Our friends, Emma & Anna, were there too! Clay decided to wear his Daddy's shorts. Just a little big! :)
Kyle and I had his company party this weekend. It was so fun! We had dinner at a local Italian restaurant and then went bowling. It was a heated competition between the two teams.I have been busy baking goodies for our Mother's Day Out teachers. I am so thankful for each of them. They are so sweet to my kids and they both love going.Among all the busy-ness, may we remember the reason for our celebration and enjoy our quiet moments to meditate on the gift of Christmas. I don't know about you, but a quiet moment is just what I need (and very hard to find at my house :)

I loved how this verse spoke to me during this "loud" season:
"The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever." Isaiah 32:17

Ms. Sims

We celebrated my sister's college graduation this weekend. We are so proud of her and excited about her new job as a teacher. She is going to do great as Ms. Sims! Congratulations, Aunt Ally!We had a celebration lunch at our favorite local dive, City Limits! Avery was decked out in her Christmas outfit and Clay was Mr. Personality. He was chatting with everyone and being a social butterfly.
